A Certain SHE

Amigos…there is this girl. She likes to be free. It runs in her veins, the very essence of freedom. May be that is how she was brought up, may be she never incurred any restrictions, or may be she was blockaded for too long which turned freedom into her utmost desire, may be she learnt it through experience, or may be she acquired the taste for it, you can never tell. Boundaries and prejudices curb her spirit. She likes to wear clothes according to her mood and not based on surroundings. She wants to wear her heart on sleeves. Some days she likes her hair messy. Some days she doesn’t want to respond to every banal conversation. She picks her interests not on convenience but on her own choice. She doesn’t crave for your attention. She is too entangled in the chain of her own thoughts. She is no role model. She is faulty to her core nature. If only others could stop trying to figure her out. She smiles, and even cries with equal vigor. She has the fire, to make things work for her, assistance no-assistance. She is a mystery…never to be solved. You don’t get it yet? I am that girl, YOU are that girl.

(Guys…you are great too! :D..can give it a read)

Back to roots!

It is July already! Retrospection time may be for what I have done in half a year. Won’t dwell. I have been pretty occupied in my office lately. Have been deviating from my usual habits. There was this flash mob which took place last Thursday and which I was a part of. We used to have daily practice sessions in between office hours and some how I managed to sneak away from my seat…my insides feeling guilty about skipping my work..what to do? It was so much fun. Few things I realized..I don’t gel too soon. I get talked on a lot about being thin..which is now wearing me out a little! Then, I totally enjoy dancing,…this I knew but got in love with sweat during this period..and meeting other people who were a part of it. Lastly, I think could have faired better as a boy! I mean I love being a girl…and I have some of those feminine traits(shopping..worrying..etc.) but here I was amongst a bunch of girls, of all kinds..and I felt so out of place..I didn’t gossip..I didn’t talk about my weight..I didn’t feel like talking about guys…I didn’t have any clue on make up, touch up what so ever..and then when my friend saw me in the flash mob group pic…she said..you could have done better with your clothes..and I was like yeah whatever! Sometimes it can be more about living the moment than those outer crust paraphernalia..like how were you looking , how good did you dance and whether you took the selfie or not. In that moment..I had thousand volts of fun. Hindi songs..Telugu song..Kannad song..Gasolina…Lungi dance..man! I was all there and enjoying it. :). Guys asserted their love for rear ends by hooting everytime we took a turn. :D. One girl bombed our dance in between and we had a good amount of laugh later when we saw the video. I guess I will mark this day as a good memory and probably that is why the blog!

Ahoy Sisters!

So..this time it is Sisterhood of the world bloggers award. I feel overjoyed and humbled at the same time. I hardly knew such awards existed when I first started blogging…good or bad..in a way they do instigate you to keep writing. I guess that is certainly a good thing! 🙂
I got nominated by Lauren who is the cutest girl around in my blogspace..she is earthly and real and intelligent..She will frown on crappy things and rejoice on happy moments..love reading her posts..even love her blog title.. https://justapreciouspenny.wordpress.com/..you guys have got to check it out!

Alright..rules are pretty simple…you get nominated…you nominate other bloggers..and since it is the sisterhood…this time nominate only fellow girlie girls! Answer the questions you have been asked and then present your nominees the questions of your choice. So here are my answers to Lauren’s questions:

1. Why did you start blogging?
A guy had broken my heart and I wasn’t finding any comfort in talking to people around me..so one of those days…blogging just happened..it was impromptu. And all is well now. :).

2. Do you like to read? If so, what book(s) would you recommend?
I do like to read, but I guess I am not a voracious reader. I love Jane Austen’s Persuasion and yeah I like Dan Brown’s novels. Currently read John Green’s Fault in our stars but it is a sob fest!

3. Do you prefer Converse or Toms?
I am more of those flip flops girl.. 😀 .but if you ask Converse..Toms haven’t much catched on in India yet.

4. What are some things that girls in their twenties should do? (any advice?)
Trips and lots of trips..and not holding yourself back from something you really want to do! Should do what your mind says. :). Age no bar.

5. What is your favorite Disney movie?
Well…right now Tangled is coming to my mind..i liked that movie.

6. If you could visit anywhere in the United States, where would you go?
Haven’t yet..but if I do visit I’ll try and cover a big slice..:)..New York first.

7. Do you have a pet?
Nooo…but I so darn wish. Want to keep a turtle or a bird. Just scared if I would be able to give it due care.

8. [This is stolen from Nicole, but it ‘s a great question!] What is your favorite quote and why?
I don’t have a “favourite” quote in particular, i love this one from “Flipped”:

Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss; but every once in a while, you find someone who’s iridescent, and once you do, nothing will ever compare.

9. Pick a super-power you would want for a day.
I would want to fly and meet all of my loved ones in that one day.

10. What is your favorite family tradition?
Whenever we gather up..which is not very often…we go for picnics..I just love that time. And then there is this singing game antakshari that my family plays..I and my bro will team up against mom dad. It is super fun!

Girls!!!

I think girls are beautiful creatures of god. I mean I am all about praising men, but today i want to NOT mention them anywhere. There is something about girls you know…the air of mystery..the inhibition to not let it all out..the smile..the unconscious gestures of moving their fingers around their ear…the cuteness…the sultriness..the mood swings….the giggles…the caring instinct…the hairs..ooh the hairs in all sort of varieties…the uncalled for tears and their futile attempts to stop them…the bracelets around their wrists, or anklets around their slender feet or lockets around their neck or those cute hair clips…the copious amount of products they purchase…and the seldomness with which they use those products..how they shower love…how they feign to be mad…how they don’t make eye contact when actually mad…how they looooove to dress up…and how they equally loooove to stay in jammies..i am telling you…girls are full of adorable peculiarities. They can be pain in the ass at times, true. But aren’t they disarming enough for you to bear some pain?! You might be amidst a tornado of life changing decisions to make, and a particular she will call you up and make it all mellow. I love being a girl! It is occuring to me today. :).
